Helena and Gary’s Journey

Helena and Gary* approached Empower Wealth after being disappointed with the services of another Property Investment Advisory business and being impressed with what they had seen of our research platform, Location Analyser. They were already experienced investors and had a well established portfolio. However, after a review of their existing portfolio by our Property Wealth Planning team and taking into account their financial objectives, it was clear that additional properties were necessary if they were to achieve the retirement lifestyle they had worked so hard towards. Whilst they were somewhat knowledgeable about property investing, as business owners, they didn’t have the required time to dedicate to sourcing and securing an investment grade property. Additionally, it was recommended to purchase an interstate property – both to minimise risk by not having all properties in one location; as well as to take advantage of the anticipated upswing in values in an area identified by our advisors, with the help of the Location Analyser software. It wasn’t long before we were approached by a local selling agent with an off-market opportunity, which ticked all the boxes for their investment grade property purchase, which surpassed the growth and yield objectives. We were able to secure a two bedroom house, without competition, in the gentrified suburb of Yarraville, all within walking distance to the Village with its cafes, shops and train. Better still, the property came with a long term tenant in place and was income producing from the day of settlement.

Whilst on a business trip and following settlement, Gary visited this property and was thrilled with the choice of location. Since then, Gary and Helena have engaged our buyers agency service again to continue to round out their portfolio and move closer to their retirement goal.
