Sam is a born and raised New Zealander. He completed a Bachelor of Business Analysis majoring in Finance and Economics at the University of Waikato, was a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar throughout his studies and was also admitted to the Golden Key Society in his first year of study for top academic performance.

He left New Zealand in 2017 immediately after graduating university to travel to Europe and achieve his goal of becoming bilingual. He worked in restaurants in Spain for 8 months to learn Spanish, and then taught English in the south of Spain. In 2019, he moved to Krakow, Poland and worked as a KYC Analyst for the award-winning Fintech Revolut.

Sam moved back to New Zealand during the COVID lockdowns and made plans to move to Melbourne. He shares a passion for building wealth through investment and felt a connection to the work Empower Wealth do to help people of all earning levels achieve financial freedom. He is also planning to pursue his own property investment portfolio and found immense value in the advice and support offered by Empower Wealth.

When he isn’t working, Sam is making music under his alias “Sam Fran”. As a music producer releasing music on Spotify, he spends most of his free time collaborating with other Artists in New Zealand and in Australia, writing and producing music to be played on NZ/Australian radio and streaming platforms.

Matthew plays an important role throughout our property journey. He shows the gold standard quality of a consultative professional lending advice, for life, that fits way beyond just competitive rates. To us, it's critical for a mortgage broker to be creative in its own right. Stretch, flex but equally compliant, to enable us in achieving the dream goal. Matthew has done all that.
