Melissa Long

Melissa is a Mortgage Lending Advisor at Empower Wealth with more than 12 years’ experience in the real estate and finance industry. She holds a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Financial Planning.

Melissa has always been into property throughout the earlier years of her career but her move to the lending industry was trigged after her own personal experience dealing with a mortgage broker. They opened her eyes to the world of growing wealth through property. Her broker at the time was also keen to educate, rather than just selling a product which completely changed her perception on property investing. She went in there thinking she was going to buy something to live in and that would be it, however that meeting changed everything and she now holds a diverse property portfolio.

From that process and her experience in the real estate industry, she saw how her property knowledge could be advantageous in making the leap to a finance career in mortgage broking. It was a no brainer for Melissa to merge all her passion together and that eventually led her to Empower Wealth where she can help and educate people about what their possibilities are through different lending strategies, especially when they don’t think they’re close to being able to start.

When asked about why she chose Empower Wealth, she said that it’s because it’s the whole package. Helping clients achieve financial peace and education, were strong parts of the company’s value and she was impressed with how all of the teams within the business work closely together to get clients to where they want to be.

Outside of work, Melissa has a passion for travel, keeping fit, environmental issues/sustainability and of course, good food! More of an outdoor personality, she enjoys playing tennis, bike riding, snowboarding, camping, chilling out with friends/family/two adopted dogs.
