Joel Whaling

Joel is an Associate Property Investment Adviser at Empower Wealth. He holds a double bachelor’s degree in commerce and Property and Real Estate from Deakin University and is currently studying to become a Qualified Property Investment Advisor.

Born and raised in Melbourne’s inner east, property and real estate has been an interest and passion of Joel’s since seeing his parents renovate and sell property at an early age, which led him to pursue and recently complete a double degree in Commerce/Property and Real Estate at Deakin University, graduating in early 2024.

With a professional background primarily in real estate sales administration and software, Joel has recently returned to his hometown after a stint living in sunny Brisbane, with the desire to pursue a career which combined his interests in property, personal finance, helping people and investing. Already familiar with Empower Wealth, having first read the Armchair Guide to Property Investing book at 17, Joel jumped at the opportunity to become an associate at Empower Wealth. 

Outside of work, Joel spends his time at the gym, reading, spending time with friends and his partner, exploring the many things that Melbourne has to offer. A fan of many sports, a passionate North Queensland Cowboys fan, you will also find Joel watching and studying games of rugby league.
