Andrew Cooper

Andrew is the IT and Security Manager at Empower Wealth. Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge having worked for nearly forty years across all areas of Information Technology.

Before joining Empower Wealth, Andrew has worked in a number of different industries including health, payments and gaming. Having started in Information Technology his career has seen him take on many different responsibilities including infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance and software development.

He is an experienced people manager with almost twenty years leading high functioning technology teams in organisations where security governance and compliance were paramount. His most recent role having him responsible for the technology and security of one of Australia’s largest repositories of health information. The strength of his background in information security compliance is highlighted by having been responsible for achieving ISO27001 accreditation in a such a complex environment with high value data.

He is an enthusiastic advocate for the embedding of security at the very core of all business processes to ensure that our customers’ critical data is protected from threats both malicious and accidental.

In his spare time Andrew is an avid follower of both Rugby Union and Australian Rules Football.
