Victor Dao

Victor is a Financial Planner at Empower Wealth who has more than 10 years’ experience in the financial planning industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University majoring in Accounting & Finance, a Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, and is a Certified Financial Planner ® with the Financial Planning Association (FAAA).

Originally born in Perth WA, Victor moved with his family to Sydney NSW when he was just 10 years old. After finishing high school, he decided to move to Canberra to study at the Australian National University. It was during this period that he commenced part-time employment with a large and well-known financial planning firm.

From then on, upon graduating from university, he has worked at some of the largest and most recognisable wealth management, accounting and superannuation firms in Australia which has given him a unique perspective and skillset which he brings to Empower Wealth.

He is a strong believer in the value of personal financial advice and the positive impact it can have on a person’s future. Whether it be long term wealth creation and retirement planning or defending one’s family against the unforeseen, Victor has specialist knowledge and experience in these areas and enjoys unpacking these complex and unfamiliar concepts to clients so they can make a fully informed decision.

Victor believes that his role as a financial planner is to inform, educate and help clients make the most optimal choice given their own circumstances. As with most things in life, there are often multiple options a person can choose; his role is to help you understand the benefits and consequences of the options as they relate to you.

In his spare time, Victor enjoys going to the gym, catching up with friends and family over dinner and watching sports. He is also an amateur hobby mechanic who enjoys learning to fix cars. He wishes he had more time to improve his skills in this area.
