From ALMOST Buying Off-the-Plan… to Proven Property Performance

The Early Spark

For Clinton, property was always part of his upbringing, with his dad owning a building company, and helping him on job sites when he was growing up.

So later, when a workmate recommended The Property Couch podcast, it struck a chord. Clinton says, “I haven’t looked back ever since, I agreed with their philosophy about it all.” That moment marked the turning point from following spruiker advice, to finding a trusted pathway.

Avoiding the Spruiker Trap

Like many first-time buyers, Clinton and his partner were nudged towards off-the-plan builds.

“I actually went to a (YouTubers) seminar who was selling off the plan stuff and yeah, a lot of things sort of come out that you sort of realise, they’re not in my best interests at all.”

Clinton admits that without better information, “that’s probably the route I was going to go.”

Finding Clarity with a Plan

The difference came when he and his partner engaged Empower Wealth.

Clinton and his partner are now preparing to buy their final property under the plan. “So we’re looking at buying in next place, in Victoria, and that will be our last one in our plan. we only need two investment properties plus our PPR.”

With only 3 total properties needed to reach his family’s goals, it’s a stark difference from the spruiker who was originally trying to sell him 10 properties in 10 years.
