Piers has joined Empower Wealth in the Mortgage Broking department working as a Customer Relationship Officer. He has completed a double degree in Business and Banking and Finance at Monash University where he majored in International Business and Economics and Business Strategy, finishing with a High Distinction average in both majors.

Piers was born in New Zealand and became an Australian citizen at the end of 2022. After graduating he began working in the energy industry to further his understanding of the macroeconomic principles underpinning one of Australia’s key resource markets.

During the Covid lockdowns Piers made plans to take the gap year he never had and quit his job in the energy industry to travel around Europe for 4 months, visiting 7 countries and attempting to eat the highest rated hamburger in each country along the way.

Upon returning to Melbourne, he developed an interest in options trading with a specific focus on the video game industry, researching upcoming projects at major game developers to identify potentially over or undervalued firms. After broadening his scope from interactive technology to the overall stock market, Piers became fascinated with the property sector and quickly became aware of Empower Wealth, becoming enamoured with their sophisticated Property Portfolio Plans and their use of technology to achieve data-driven results. This led to Piers securing a job as a Customer Relationship Officer with a view towards becoming a fully-fledged mortgage broker.

Outside of work Piers is an avid follower of college basketball and the NBA, a keen snowboarder and is always looking for the next best place to find a cheap meal.

Empower Wealth was able to assist us in refinancing and restructuring our investment loans to allow us to continue to capture our surplus quicker in moving on to saving for our next investment property.
