Luke Oxenham

Luke is as a Mortgage Lending Advisor with over 13 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Luke holds a Bachelor of Criminology and a Diploma in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking).

Originally from Brisbane, Luke started his career in finance working in several different lending roles for a major bank before making the move to Melbourne in 2013 and into Financial Crime Investigations. Luke often likes to joke that despite the job title, his time there was not at all like an episode of CSI but it has given Luke a wealth of experience and a unique perspective in his approach to investments and lending. He soon developed an interest in complex lending strategies and how the right structure and planning can ensure people are prepared for their futures.

Luke has always had a passion for great client outcomes and ensuring his clients’ best interests are at the forefront of everything he does. However, being a social person, he chose a move into mortgage broking so that he could work with clients face to face and help them achieve their long term goals through the right lending structure and strategy. Since then, Luke has dived headfirst into broking and spent two years as a senior analyst for a large broking firm before joining Empower Wealth in 2019. He is also a regular contributor on The Property Couch podcast, sharing his expertise with a broader audience.

Since moving from Brisbane, Luke has come to call Melbourne home and is often out and about enjoying all things the city has on offer. He’s an avid fan of personal development, learning everything he can about all forms of investing and building his portfolio. He also enjoys both sketching and design in his spare time but thinks his skill in illustration is best described as “Stick with your day job”. Luckily, it’s his day job that he’s most passionate about.
