Elizabeth Bing

Elizabeth is a Senior Financial Planner at Empower Wealth and has more than 16 years experience in wealth creation and property investing. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment, a Bachelor of Economics (Majoring in Banking and Finance) and full accreditation to deal in Derivatives Level One and Two.

Commencing her career as a Group Insurance Administrator for one of Australia’s larger insurance companies, Elizabeth decided the role wasn’t for her and moved into stock broking. After cutting her teeth as a Dealer’s Assistant for a large American broking firm, Elizabeth moved on to work for one of the firm’s largest options trader. This role included being a designated trading representative (putting option orders on the market).

After several years, Elizabeth was offered an advisory role with another broker to service the needs of financial planners. With the advent of ‘online trading’ it quickly became apparent that a larger audience needed to be captured so she began specialising in ‘option trading’. Whilst pregnant and experiencing the start of one of the nastiest bear markets, Elizabeth decided it was time to acquire other skills and obtained a Diploma in Financial Planning.

Elizabeth joined Empower Wealth in 2012 as a Key Facilitator for the Money and Wealth Planning. Elizabeth helps determine appropriate financial strategies for clients and then ascertaining the most appropriate execution for these strategies. Working in a small team, Elizabeth tasks include; strategic advice for insurance, superannuation (including SMSFs) and investments, pricing insurance, writing advice, and dealing with external providers on behalf of clients.

Working at Empower Wealth has given Elizabeth exposure to the magic of compounding, how by choosing the right investment and letting ‘it do its thing over time’ makes investing seem simple. And, being able to learn about various asset classes by working with property, fixed interest and managed funds experts.

Outside of the office, Elizabeth is actively involved in a charity called the Gertrude Players. The mission of the charity is to work for the relief of poverty through the promotion of art and culture.
