Ben Magnus

Ben is the Head of Mortgage Broking and with a background in banking and financial services, he has received training and experience with respected institutions including The Australian Tax Office, Ernst & Young, Bankwest and NAB.

With a diverse skill set built from time in Risk Management as a National Risk Manager in 3^rd Party Banking, Debt Collection and the transitioning into Sales leadership, Ben brings the strength of strategic leadership and a mindset around growth as we build on our successful Mortgage Broking division and expand into more Australian markets.

Prior to Empower Wealth, Ben worked for NAB as a Senior Enterprise Business Development Manager, responsible for staff education and relationship growth across all sales division of NAB with a focus on new to bank customer acquisition.

Ben grew up in the Pilbara of Western Australia as his family were imbedded in the oil and gas industry. After some time in the Pilbara, Ben moved to Sydney where he finished high school. As a passionate foodie, Ben then went on to complete his qualifications in Commercial Cookery as a Chef, working through some of Sydney’s best restaurants in the late 90s and into the 00s.

As a passionate traveller, Ben spent a couple of years over in the UK working and travelling Europe, backpacking across Russia and Germany before returning home and settling into the world of Business with the Australian Tax Office as the State Manager for Insolvency in WA.
